Terms of Services

Effective Date: Immediately.

These Terms of Service govern the relationship between AmandAcademy, Nelumi Amanda Kodituwakku Arachchi, and any individual or parent/guardian of a student who engages our private tuition services. By booking and attending tuition sessions, you agree to these Terms.


1. Services Provided

We offer private tuition in the following subjects:

  • Piano
  • 11+ Exam Preparation
  • GCSE Computer Science
  • GCSE Mathematics
  • GCSE Physics

Sessions may be delivered in-person or online, as agreed at the time of booking.


2. Booking and Scheduling

  • All sessions must be booked in advance and confirmed by us.
  • Sessions are scheduled subject to availability.
  • You will receive confirmation of the date, time, and location (or online meeting link) of all sessions.

3. Fees and Payment

  • Tuition fees will be agreed upon prior to the first session.
  • Payment is due maximum two weeks after the lesson has been completed.
  • Accepted payment methods: Bank transfer, or cash.
  • Failure to make timely payments may result in cancellation of future sessions.

4. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

  • Notice: A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling.
  • Late Cancellations: Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged at 100% of the session fee.
  • Tutor Cancellations: If we need to cancel a session, we will offer a rescheduled session at no extra cost.

5. Student Responsibilities

  • Students are expected to attend sessions on time and prepared.
  • For academic subjects, students should bring any necessary materials (textbooks, notes, calculators, etc.).
  • For piano lessons, students should bring any necessary materials (practical books, theory books).

6. Online Tuition

  • A reliable internet connection, functioning microphone, and camera are required for online sessions.
  • We are not responsible for technical issues on the client’s side that prevent the completion of a session.

7. Code of Conduct

  • Respectful and professional behaviour is expected from all parties.
  • Any abusive, inappropriate, or disruptive behaviour may result in termination of services without refund.

8. Safeguarding

  • We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • The tutor holds an Enhanced DBS Certificate, which can be shown upon request.
  • A responsible adult (parent/guardian) must be present at the home during in-person sessions for students under 18.
  • For online sessions, parents/guardians are encouraged to monitor or periodically check in during lessons.
  • Any concerns regarding safeguarding should be raised immediately with the tutor.

9. Parental Consent (For Students Under 18)

  • By booking tuition for a student under 18, the parent/guardian provides consent for the lessons to take place.
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring the student is available and prepared for sessions.
  • For online lessons, parents/guardians must ensure that the student’s learning environment is safe and appropriate.

10. Results Disclaimer

While we strive to provide high-quality tuition, we do not guarantee specific grades, exam results, or outcomes. Success depends on individual effort and commitment.


11. Data Protection & Privacy

  • We collect and store personal data (such as names, contact details, and academic information) solely for the purpose of providing tuition services.
  • Data will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
  • We will not share your personal data with third parties without consent, except where required by law.

12. Liability

  • We accept no liability for any indirect or consequential loss arising from tuition services.
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the affected session(s).

13. Termination

Either party may terminate the tuition arrangement with 5 day’s notice. Any outstanding fees for completed sessions must be paid in full.


14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.
